Splurging
We finally did it...we broke down and bought Moda fabric! We've been eyeing this fabric forever, but who wants to spend $11 on a yard of fabric? Yikes! Not us. We decided to splurge as a late Christmas gift to ourselves...who says you can't have Christmas in June? With the gift-cards we got for Christmas, all this fabric cost us $4! Right now this fabric is sitting out so we can stare at it all we want :) We're not brave enough to cut it up until we know exactly what we are doing with it. Gotta love Moda!

1 year
We can’t believe it’s already been a year since we first
started quilting!
These are what we consider our “first quilts". The pictures were taken from far away to hide the imperfections :)

Technically we made a lot of quilts before these, but they
were just scrappy rag quilts that are not worth mentioning. These disappearing 9 patch quilts are our first attempt at stippling and binding. It’s fun to look back on these quilts and realize how far we’ve
come in only a year! Maybe next year we’ll be even better…

Off to a Slow Start
We’re already off to a slow start on quilting and blogging this
summer…we’ve been too busy soaking up the sun and drinking this stuff:
After a long spring full of custom-ordered quilts, we’re
burned out and ready for a LONG break…not too long though. As you can see, we still
managed to make this quilt top from our scraps, even though we told ourselves to take a break from
quilting.
Today we’ve been working on the minor details of quilting
that no one really wants to do. We’ve been figuring out math, math, and more
math.
Math + Summer = Trouble
