Dirty Work
When the tension is not right on our machines, and all else fails, we know its time to get dirty! Too much machine quilting = string caught in gears. If you can’t tell from the picture, there are greasy black strings caught around the end of the thread takeup. We have to untangle them string by string. Ugg…
Messy. Messy. Messy. Thank goodness for soap. Hopefully our
machines are working so we can get back to sewing. We probably work them too
hard. Poor machines. They are taking a rest right now… a VERY short one :)
Quilting isn’t all dirt and grease, there are a lot of pretty
things involved too...like this bright stack of fabrics we pulled out of our
never-ending stash. Yes, quilting is definitely
“Pretty Work.”

The Day After
It’s the day after Christmas, and
things are winding down. We had a wonderful holiday, full of family and fun! (Let’s
not mention the fudge, hot chocolate, pies, soda, sparkling cider…)
We did get some much needed (and wanted!) sewing supplies. Our broken darning foot and not-very-hot iron needed to be replaced.
That yellow ugly picture up there needs to be explained. The
yellow picture was taken on our old camera. For Christmas we got this new camera and that explains the second picture. Every picture turns out perfect on
our new camera! Before, picture-taking was a process:

are too lazy to read that big long word, basically it says that we love our new camera!)
Merry (late) Christmas and Happy New Year!!! :)
