L'Amour Fabric

We found this L'Amour fabric at a craft sale for only $4 a yard!! We're not big on stashing without a quilt in mind, but we couldn't resist such a good deal. We have so many other projects lying around that it could be Valentine's Day before we get to this again... after all, the fabrics are Valentine's colors.

Blue and White Rail Fence Quilt

We've been keeping this quilt a secret because it's a surprise for our grandma. This is the biggest quilt we've made! It measures 88" x 104"- a queen sized quilt.
We were a little worried about the machine quilting on such a big quilt, but we had no problems. The key to success is basting spray and constantly turning the quilt to eliminate bulk.

Spring

Spring is finally here :)

We've got "popcorn" popping on the apricot tree...

A few random flowers popping up in the yard...

...and a spring quilt to work on!

Finished Ziggy Quilt

Here's our newest quilt. The tutorial for the quilt top can be found here.  We learned our lesson while basting this quilt- basting spray works better than safety pins. How do you safety-pin-basters do it?  After we got our quilt basted, we decided to make machine quilting simple by straight line quilting along the white.  The back is a solid white sheet that only cost $2! We love using sheets as quilt backs because it saves you a ton of money! (Who wants to buy a quilt back that costs more than the front?...what a waste of money!)
The binding for this quilt is a green striped fabric from JoAnn's. It's the same fabric that's in the quilt. We always hand sew our binding on because it gives the quilt a nice finishing touch. This quilt is now in our etsy shop.
