Fabric

We've been staring at this cute little stack of fat quarters. This fabric is going to be used in a quilt for our mom. We bought the fabric at JoAnn's...our favorite place to buy fabric. Some people hate JoAnn's, but we LOVE it! You can't beat their prices, especially with coupons.

We got these cute fabrics from our neighbor. We have no plans for it...yet :)

P.S. This is a closer look at the beadboard on our dresser. (See this post.)

ANOTHER Rag Quilt

Sorry! You're probably sick of rag quilts...we're sure not. Rag quilts are great because they're fast, cute, and cheap. Plus they're super soft because of the flannel. The flannel was a bargain at $2 a yard...we couldn't resist. We promise this is our last one... for a while at least :) Here's our latest and greatest version.....

GREEN!
(Did we really just put 4 "dot-dot-dots" in our post?...weird!) This quilt's in our Etsy Shop.

Blue

 Blue is the color of...

...the beach. Doesn't this picture make you want to go to the Caribbean?

...this quilt. This one is identical to the pink rag quilt we made a few weeks back. This can be found in our etsy shop.

Finished Pinwheel Quilt

Remember this quilt? We finally got it finished! This quilt was kinda small, so we decided to add borders and those triangles called prairie points. The stippling on this quilt is so bubbly, even though it's not washed yet! This has got to be our favorite quilt up to date. It's now in the shop

Dresser Redo

Here's a lovely dresser full of mouse poop, spiders, and who knows what else.... don't worry we cleaned it (:

It's amazing how different a dresser can look with new paint. You can't tell in the picture (we've got to be the worst photographers ever) but we added bead-board and trim to the top two drawers.

We also made the bedspreads/pillows and the valance.  We now have flowers in between the two lamps.

Pink Rag Quilt

Sorry it's been awhile...We've been fabric shopping, fabric shopping, and more fabric shopping :) We still managed to find time to make this simple rag quilt:

The quilt is much brighter in real life, but it's so dark (and warm!) outside. We followed this tutorial to make it. This one's now in the shop.

Tutorial: Pinwheel Quilt Blocks

Here's the finished quilt top that we made with this fabric. It turned out so cute. We love how bright and fun it is... perfect for a wintery day.  Here's a quick tutorial:

What you'll need:
  • 48 white 5" squares
  • 48 colored 5" squares

 1. Draw a pencil line diagonally down the center of each white square.

2. Stack a white square on top of a colored square. Sew a 1/4" on both sides of the line.

3. Cut along the pencil line...creating 2 pieces.

 4. Iron your seams flat.

 5. Cut off the tiny triangles that are sticking out.

 6. Layout 4 of your half-square triangles.

7. Sew the top two together, and then the bottom two. Then sew the top and the bottom together.

8.  Make all the rest of the blocks. Layout the blocks 4 pinwheels x 6 pinwheels. The finished quilt is 32 x 48.
